Adventurous bride with gorgeous light, the perfect wedding photo combination!

The Harbour Chapel is a stone's throw from Dunbar Harbour, ( the name didn't give it away at all did it - hehe ) with dramatic cliffs and stunning views, it's a very exciting place to have your wedding photos taken. There are also plenty of great spots to have photographs taken without the need to venture out onto the rocks. The Harbour Chapel has been beautifully renovated by the loveliest people, Ewan and Fiona. They have kept so much of the original Chapel charm whilst giving it a modern, elegant feel.

Liz and Nick got married here in October 2022, the gorgeous autumn light burst through the clouds to make their photos extra special.

Liz got ready at her parents house in North Berwick, we had a super relaxed morning in their beautiful family home, excitedly talking about the day ahead and creating some beautiful photos.

After a warm send off by their neighbours, Liz took a short taxi ride to the chapel. Nick excitedly waited for her arrival as the guests arrived to a very warm welcome from Fiona and her lovely team.

One of my favourite parts of a wedding day is right after the ceremony. The guests are so eager to say hello to the couple, give them a big hug to congratulate them and get the celebrations started. As a photographer it is a lovely time to observe the connections and take candid photos of the joy.

A short walk from the chapel is Dunbar Harbour. In order to get spectacular wedding photos it is often important to plan ahead of the wedding. Prior to the wedding I did a recce of possible locations, I took some videos and carefully explained what the experience of having photos there would be like to Liz and Nick. This made a huge difference on the day as they were fully prepared to have a wee adventure. It was quite a cloudy day but as we got towards the end of the harbour the gorgeous golden light burst out from behind the clouds. Liz and Nick fully trusted my ideas and were great fun to have a mini adventure with.

Relaxed Wedding Photography

My approach to taking wedding photos is to have as much fun as you, the more we chat and get to know each other, the more relaxed you both will feel. It's very natural to feel nervous, everyone feels this way. The most important thing is to be connected to each other, through touch and eye contact, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and let me do the rest.

After plenty of sea air and excitement from our harbour adventure, we headed back into the chapel. Next it was time for some heartfelt and beautifully worded speeches.

After a wonderful and joyous time some delicious food was served by the amazing Jo's Kitchen. The Harbour Chapel have connected with many brilliant local wedding suppliers, this makes it easier for you to plan your special day. Finally the dancing, Nick and Liz had a Ceilidh, it was absolutely wild, so much fun!

Thank you to all the wonderful suppliers.
