Stuart and Alexandras wonderful Scottish Wedding at Forbes of Kingennie
I first met Stuart and Alexandra when Stuart was best man at a previous Scottish Wedding that I photographed. This was at the stunning Altskeith Country House wedding venue the previous year. They were both an absolute ray of sunshine on that day so I was delighted to be asked to photograph their wedding at the amazing wedding venue of Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort.
I arrived around 3 hours before the ceremony. This gives plenty of time to enjoy meeting and chatting to family and wedding party friends ahead of the ceremony. From years of experience I have learnt that the more conversations that happen at this stage of the day, the more relaxed everyone is around the camera. This is key to capturing natural, fun and genuine emotions and connections from the day.
Pascal, star of the show...
It was actually Pascal, their beautiful Dachshund who initially reached out on Instagram to me so it was great to finally meet him.
Alexandra and her closest people got ready in a gorgeous, spacious lodge on the estate. There were so many lovely movements throughout the morning, my favourite being Alexandras dress reveal which brought a lot of joy and excitement.
Time to get married...
After a lot of fun and laughter, it is time to get married. It's always so exciting. I love the energy in the room just before the ceremony starts, guests are finding their seats whilst spotting familiar faces they may not have seen for a while. Warm connections are happening everywhere, it's the best.
Confetti fun...
I always suggest to do a confetti tunnel immediately after the ceremony, it's such a fun way to transition from the ceremony into the rest of the day.
The closest people...
Proud mum
Time to breathe....( and laugh some more)
After capturing some gorgeous group photos, Alex and Stuart enjoyed a glass of fizz whilst chatting away to their wonderful guests. We then took a short stroll along a nearby lake to capture some lovely couples photos. It can be quite full on having so many people to chat to at your wedding. I always suggest we do some couples photos around 30 minutes before you're called to dinner. This gives a nice opportunity for a wee breather and a bit of time to soak it all in.
Party time...
What a fun party it was, the awesome ceilidh band got the energy levels high. The dance moves were flowing and I was right in the middle of it all, where I love to be, capturing all the fun. This was such a wonderful celebration to be part of.
