Planning a Scottish Outdoor Wedding? Rachael and Andrew had a wedding photography vision and we made it happen!
East Lothian Weddings at their best!
You do you! Rachael and Andrew did exactly that and it was so wonderful! Rachel is from the beautiful seaside town of Gullane in East Lothian. They both love the great outdoors and the stunning East Lothian coastline holds loads of special memories for them. They had a wedding photography vision and we made it happen! The vision was to do a first look at the exact spot that they camped together within the first few months of meeting each other. It was oh so romantic and the best possible start to their East Lothian Wedding day. Their siblings and their lovely dogs came along to help make it all go smoothly.
Wedding day preparations at the family home.
I was warmly welcomed into Rachael's family home. The energy in the room was calm and full of smiles. As Rachael, her mum and nan got their make up done, I quietly captured the scene and enjoyed lovely chats . Andrew was getting ready with his family next door so I also popped over there to meet them all and get some portraits.
Family photos pre ceremony for the win!
After their beautiful first look, we also took the opportunity to take some family photos whilst at the beach. It was really lovely to have this time ahead of the ceremony to take these photos. It meant that when we were at the venue, Rachael and Andrew and their family could enjoy mingling and chatting to all the other guests and didn't have anything else to think about. I'd highly recommend this if you're able to do so.
The rest of the day was super fun and relaxed throughout. Rachaels dad kicked it off with his " booze barrow " entrance. The ceremony was pure joy from start to finish with lots of wee personal touches. The John Muir Tipis is the perfect setting for a chilled, easy going East Lothian Wedding vibe. Kids ran around on the field, games were played and of course the Alpacas came to say hello. Around 15 minutes before call to dinner, we put on some loud up beat tunes and did a photo dash. All the guests lined up, the energy was high, I directed Rachael and Andrew into a good composition and go go go...in groups, guests took it in turns to pose with the happy couple, it was soooo much fun and it meant that they got a gorgeous record of all their guest. I would highly recommend doing a photo dash! After dinner, the fire pit was lit, the dance floor was full thanks to the amazing tunes, what an epic celebration of their love! Here are some of my faves from such an awesome wedding!
